why didnt I realize this before: most christians claim that there is insufficient evidence for gods existance?
That is why most christians tell the world that they have faith in god. Their belief is merely faith based because there is insufficient evidence to have a sure knowledge. You cant have faith in something that you know to be true. Religionists that say that they have faith in god are actually saying is that they are agnostics, but they want to believe that there is a god. Belief and knowing is not the same thing, even though they hate to admit it.

You're right. Belief and knowing are not the same thing. Belief is like standing. Faith is like walking. Belief is a thought. Faith is an action.
When I stand on one side of a bridge - I can believe or think it will hold me but my belief doesnt get me across or tell me the truth about the bridge. The only way to find out - the only way to know for sure is to observe the evidence of its beams- watch others cross then trust the bridge and act. This is faith. When Im on the other side - now I know. Exercising faith is how I allow the bridge to prove itself to me.
God proves Himself to us the same way. Only by trusting the evidence He gives us and acting on that trust do we find out for sure.
A bridge wont force you to cross. And God doesnt force us either. Like the bridge - He offers Himself and then waits for us to trust Him and act. Only by trusting and acting are we able to experience His presence and power in our lives. Thats how we can know the truth of Him.

That is because to believers faith is only an excuse word used when they have no good reasons for their beliefs!!! Where as if they had even one reason then their fake faith would be completely unnecessary!!! I have faith in reality and know that no gods or devils exist anywhere outside of any ones inculcated minds!!!

I guess simply put, "Heaping up knowledge of God unto themselves, but denying the powers thereof"

Actually most Christians will tell you they have had their own personal proof. Such proofs are not able to be shown to others, dissected or lab tested but it is very definitive to that person. We do go on faith but not faith alone.

Actually, that's not really what faith is. But if it makes you sleep better, you can believe that.
C. S. Lewis defined faith well: "Faith is the art of holding on to things your reason has once accepted in spite of your changing moods."

An interesting way of looking at it. I think it will make quite a few Christians confused. But it does make sense. Since Christians claim to have faith they claim not to know. Hence they are agnostics.
You'll likely get into a scuffle with the folks who think they "know by faith", but that's easy to argue against by going over what faith means. If I have faith I'll win the lottery tomorrow that doesn't actually provide me any knowledge that I will. I'm just trusting that I will.
