How can a basketball player in Canada get a scholarship in the U.S?
So my dream is to play basketball in the NCAA. I'm not particulary the most flashiest player, the best scorer. I'm pretty good at defense and leading my team. I'm pretty much a pass first point guard. I'm the second best player on my team. Behind a guy who's 6'2 and is already made a name for himself throughout British Columbia. I'm still in 8th grade.
I know I'm pretty good at basketball because I have passion for it, I love to play it, and I've came up big during my cities playoffs. We made it all the way to the cities finals. I scored 23 points. My coaches say I'm a really smart and good player. But lost. On a side note, I'm only 5'3
So I'm wondering how I can get a division one or 2 basketball scholarship to a college or university in the U.S. I'm considering the University of Washington. Their basketball team is okay. It's only about a 3 hour drive from my place. So how can I make it there. I will say flat out I will work really hard to go to that school or any other school that has a ball team in the NCAA.
And would you guys tell me how to become an even better basketball player. I know there's millions on grade 8's who are way better then me. Can you link me drills and such on how to become a better player. I usually play everyday. Thank you.

You need to find an AAU team to play for that goes to tournaments in the states. Most recruits will not go to Canada unless they know who you are already, so you have to play in some of the big tournaments where they are already watching. I'm not sure about the names but I know there are some good teams out of Canada because I've played them. Not only will this give you exposure but playing at a higher level like that will elevate your game. Hope this helps!

If your good enough. Many colleges will look at you. Even in the states. If they want you to play for them enough they will give you a scholarship.

Damn 5'3? Good thing your'e still in 8th grade, a growth spurt is still possible. IDK if you know who gordon haward is on the utah jazz team but he was 5'11 as a freshman in highschool and grew 9 inches throughout highschool and college. He is now 6'8. not saying that will happen to you but who knows. Just keep working hard
