Hypothetical: Owner of Clips was black, and said what Sterling said, except about all white players...?

What fraction of air time would it get compared to the Sterling debacle?

First off, Sterling didn't say anything about black players. He said he didn't want his whore bringing blacks with her to games.

Secondly, no black owner would EVER tell white people to stay away from his team's games. That's how they make their money and, unlike Sterling, they have enough street smarts to keep their big mouths shut.

Interesting point...i believe it would get attention. I mean, your releasing private conversation to the media in LA...thats like speeding through a school zone. It would prob start a new debate about how racism is not 1-way road. That being said, it doesnt have the history to back it up, so attention would switch back to the playoffs quickly.

I think it would still start a fire, but there wouldn't be as much brush around to burn.

Bobcats former owner founded BET - need I say more?

BET hasn't exactly brought any unity between different races, and they have programming that stereotypes blacks in a negative manner as well.

You already know the answer to your question, no point in me stating the obvious.

you know sterling isn't white, right? you can't really say that this only happened because he is white when the guy isn't white.

and what about chivas USA? the MLS forced the ownership out because of their discriminatory practices against non-hispanics. so there is also a recent very similar case in which an american sports league did the same thing to a hispanic guy.

The same it's racism. Racism is not limited to minorities.
