what are some very good inspirational books for engineering students?

hi

i dont want to read any academic book with maths or formulas in it. i finished my first year engineering at university majoring mechanical and i would like to spend my time reading them

    Here are three books by Henry Petroski:

    To Engineer Is Human

    Invention by Design

    The Evolution of Useful Things

    There is also Stephen E Ambrose's book "Nothing Like It in the World" about the trans continental railroad.

    Finally there is Richard P. Feynman's Books including "The Pleasure of Finding Things Out."
