Will a thin client increase my productivity and decerease my procastination?
I find myself wasting lot of time on websites such as youtube and trademe(nz ebay). Will I be able to access these sites with a thin client?
I was thinking of Hp T5530 Thin Client with windows c.e 6 os.
I guess my question is what kind of websites i'm able to access with this thin client and what websites i won't be able to access.
I would still need to access facebook(I don't spend much time here) and https://cecil.auckland.ac.nz/login.aspx.
Thanks heaps

You can do all the things on a thin client that you can do on a thick client. The only difference is where the processing is occurring.
In Windows\system32\drivers\etc there is a file named "hosts". If you can't see it go to control panel -> folder options -> View and remove the check marks from 1)hide system files and 2) hide file extension for known types and check the Show hidden files and folders.
You will need to open a command prompt and go to the directory
\\Windows\system32\drivers\etc
At the prompt, type attrib hosts -r -s <enter>
minimize the cmd window and go back to the etc directory in Windows Explorer.
Double click on the hosts file (the one with now extension) and it will ask what to use to open it. Select Notepad.
For each site you want to block, add the following to the bottom of the hosts file:
127.0.0.1 Sitename.com/org (whatever the extension is)
Save the file and close notepad.
Go back to the command prompt you minimize earlier.
Press the up arrow and the previous line will come back.
Use the left and right arrows to go back through this line and change the -'s to +'s, and press enter.
Close the command prompt.
Log off of Windows, log back in, open a browser, and try to go to one of those sites.

You need to address this issue with a counselor and try to resolve the causes.
