I'm doing an experiment, questions inside. Please answer?
Ok so i'm just doing a little experiment thingy so if you guys wouldn't mind answering some questions for me please?
1. What is your favorite genre? What do you read the most?
2. Do you prefer the main character to be male or female?
3. From what ages do you prefer characters in the books you read to be?
4. How old are you?
5. How often do you read?
6. How long are the books you usually tend to read (page wise maybe idk)
any help would be appreciated because I've been trying to write but have been kind of indecisive about some things so thank you :) xx

Hi there! I'd be happy to help:
Mystery, fiction, non-fiction, books that have a serious theme (but can still make me laugh.) Examples: Sherlock Holmes, Jeeves and Wooster, Lord of the Rings, etc.
Honestly, it doesn't matter much! As long as there are relatable and likable characters in said story.
I like variety! When I read Lord of the Rings, it was fun to read about all the creatures and humans of various ages along for the adventure.
The ripe age of 16!
It's hard to say. Depends on the book length. I take a break between reading books (unless it's an addicting series.)
Depends on the story. I don't like a story that's dragged out longer than it should be, but I like long books! If the idea is good, take it and run with it! Follow your muse. I'd say more than 60,000 words.
Also, keep in mind what audience you are writing for! And if you are planning on actually publishing, you should figure out whether it's going to be a stand-alone book or if it's going to be a series.
Best of luck to you!

Syfy, Dystopian literature, fantasy
No preference
It doesn't matter as long as they are relatable.

Way more than I probably should
This really depends on the story. Dragging it out for the sake of description gets super boring. People like action and dialogue. But, if it's just a long story with a lot of interesting scenes, that's totally cool.

0. None of these answers matter, because nobody will ever spend as long reading your story as you will writing it. Write what you enjoy writing, not what you think other people want to read. Unless one of the people answering already knows you, they don't care what you write. They barely care whether you live or die.
Just to screw up your statistics, here are my answers to the rest of your questions...
1. What is your favorite genre? What do you read the most? Fantasy and science fiction.
2. Do you prefer the main character to be male or female? No preference.
3. From what ages do you prefer characters in the books you read to be? No preference really, as long as they're interesting and have an interesting story to tell.
4. How old are you? 43 and a half.
5. How often do you read? Every day or every other day.
6. How long are the books you usually tend to read (page wise maybe idk) I tend to prefer longer novels, but only if the writer is sufficiently skilled to hold my interest over that length. Maybe I'm just getting old and impatient, but many of the novels I've read lately would have been greatly improved by the attention of an editor who was paid according to how many words he cut.
