sci fi film about uploading consciousness into a computer?
I saw a film when I was a kid about a scientist working on a way to upload a human consciousness into a computer. they tried it on the rat, but the rat was killed, and they couldn't see the rat in the computer. but it turns out the rat was just 'hiding' so they try it on a woman, who goes kind of crazy.
would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me the name of this film

It's not one I've seen..
I've found a list of supposedly every 'mind transfer' story in book or film - have a look through there & see if you can recognise it?
From the list, possibly Teklords (1994) or an episode of Caprica,
