How do I change my council tax address?
Hey guys can you tell me how I change my council tax address. I’m 19 and I am no longer living with my parents, so I want to change my name from their address to the place where I am currently living at. I don’t know my council tax number and my parent will not give me the number.

If there are two people remaining in the property you leave, nothing needs to be done - similarly if there are at least two people in the property you are moving to nothing needs to be done. The council only needs to know if either property has or had only one occupant.Only if you move into an unoccupied property do the council need to know the date you move in and your name so they can bill you.

There's no 'number'.
You simply call up your local council tax dept, let them know the address you're living at and the date you moved in, and you'll get a bill from them.

You don't have a council tax number.
You contact the local authority and give them your name and address - they will get a bill to you before you have hung up never fear.

Just go onto the website of the council you are in now and register as a new occupant of the property. There will be a phone number to ring if you have problems.
