Is this diet high in protein?

I eat mostly breads, fruits, Greek yogurt, cereal, granola, and almond milk. Is that considered a diet high in protein and carbs? Is that good for you? I am a young woman who is mostly active when working with children on a daily basis. What do you think of this diet? I love meat but I do not eat it daily, and I have a hard time eating vegetables.

    Where are the proteins? This is mostly sugars and starches. The diet described above is focused on all the wrong food choices to even be considered a well balanced healthy weight maintenance diet.

    Sugars are the dietary villain. Starches are a close second. So, you need to be minimizing or avoiding sugary and starchy food choices, while eating more proteins like eggs, meat, fish or fowl.

    It is hard to answer this question without knowing what proportions of the above items constitute your diet. Granols and cereals, both carbohydrates, tend to be high in sugar, especially if they are processed. Almond milk can sometimes contain a significant level of protein, depending on the brand and the additives, but it can also be high in sugar, so read the label of the brand you are using. Bread is, of course high in carbohydrate but with the exception of panini, tends to be low in fat. However, if you butter your bread then it becomes high in fat too. The only obvious source of protein I see here is the Greek yoghurt, which can also be very high in fat too - even the lower fat Greek yoghurt is higher in fat than other yoghurts - that is what makes them so creamy. And if they are flavoured they are usually high in sugar too. The lack of vegetables is an issue. Fruits are great but they are high in sugar, albeit natural sugar. There are so many vegetables to choose from - you could not possibly have tried them all and there simply must be at least one or two that you would find palatable. Meat is a good source of protein, but even lean meat is still a source of dietary fat. Vegetable sources of protein (tofu, nuts, beans, lentils and other pulses) are very palatable and low in far with the exception of nuts, which tend to be higher (but not particularly high) in fats, but healthy fats.

    In effect, the contents of the above diet would appear to be very high in carbs, potentially high in both fat and sugar, and unless you are having yoghurt with every single meal, in significant quantitites, probably fairly deficient in protein. It is definitely high in carbs, but not high protein.

    it's not bad, all depends on your ' goal' if you want to be a body builder ( which I'm sure you don't ) then no it's a fairly low protein intake on paper, but in general you have your milk which is pretty good, granola and cereal are full of sugars, and the bread will give you a lot of energy - I'd say maybe have some penut butter ( whole grain) on your bread maybe for breakfast, mix it up a little and involve some other foods as it's clearly a very LOW FAT diet and you will keep slim and healthy eating all this alone, you need some veggies - try blending carrots with apples and oranges, chuck in some spinach and cinnamon to sweeten the deal as a morning or afternoon drink! but I'm not seeing any REAL solid protein here - think chicken salad, tuna, cottage cheese, fish etc, hope this helps x
