Drivers License suspension?
Is it possible to get a drivers license in the state of Florida if your was suspended in Georgia due to a missed child support payment in Georgia. I was a Georgia resident and nw live in Florida and go to college down here. Thank you in advance.

Yes. All you have to do is catch up on child support, then apply to the state of GA to reinstate your license, then turn that valid license into FL to exchange it for a FL license if you are indeed a permanent resident now in FL and are paying instate tuition at the college.
If you are not a resident of FL you can't get a license there regardless of your GA status.

No. Suspended in one state means suspended in ALL states. Pay your child support, you deadbeat.

If you have a suspended licence in any given state you are not eligible for a driver's license in any other state until the suspension has been cleared. Second of all, you are only eligible to apply for a driver's license within a state that your can prove you have established permanent residency. Attending an institution of higher learning within a state is not considered permanent residency.

No. The suspended license is in the national database that is shared with all states. They would not issue a new license in Florida.

NO! US Federal law says you can only have ONE drivers license. A SUSPENDED license is still on the books, and you cannot just move to another state to get a new one. If you want to get a new drivers license, you'll have to get straight with the State of Georgia first.
