Help with writing slope intercept form?!!!?
Hi, I have 4 problems that I really dont understand so I would really appreciate the help of any math whizzes out there! I need to see the steps to each problem in order to understand them =)
1. Write an equation in slope-intercept form of the line that passes through 0,0 and is parallel to y=2/3x +1.
2. Write an equation in slope intercept form of the line that passes through 1,-3 and is parallel to y+2=4(x-1).
3. Write an equation in slope intercept form of the line that passes through 1,-2 and is perpendicular to y=5x+4.
Write an equation in slope intercept form of the line that passes through −3,2 and is perpendicular to x-2y=7.
I really really appreciate the help!
Oh and if anyone knows how to do this one:
13. Write y= 0.5x-3.2 in standard form using integer coefficients.
Mostly I just need help with the other ones though =)

Slope intercept form- y=mx+b
So for the first one:
Because the point is (0, 0) that you already know it is the intercept, and because the line they gave you is parallel to the other, they have the same slope. So the equation is y=(2/3)x
For the second:
You need to put the equation y+2=4(x-1) into slope intercept. So that is y=4x-6
Now you take the points they gave you (1, -3) and put those into the equation:
y-y1= m(x-x1) The four is the slope (parallel so same slope)
Now you put in the point (1, -3)
y+3= 4(x-1) and now you put it into slope intercept form-
y= 4x-4 and that is the second equation :)
For the third:
This one is perpendicular not parallel, so they don't have the same slope
To find the slope you take the negative reciprocal of the original
So the slope of the original is 5 so the negative reciprocal is -1/5
Now you put it into the equation y-y1= m(x-x-)
So y+2= -1/5(x-1) now you put that into slope intercept form
y= (-1/5)x+ (-9/5)
:)
