Is my dog underweight?
She's just over 1 yr old. She has papers and 5 gen pedigree. Ive had her since she was 8 weeks. I feed her 200g skinners hypo-allergenic complete dry food morning and night but she never gains weight. We go out for walks a lot and shes very active, never lethargic or lacking energy. Every other bull terrier ive seen has a round tummy, no obvious waistline, on dog weight score sheets, that is classed as over weight, id say Phoebe here is ideal on the score, but thats not how she is supposed to look by seeing everone elses. The vet says shes a healthy weight, but I think shes too thin. Help?

she's beautiful! and definitely not underweight!
but if it's really bothering you and you want her to be a bit heftier, you could try satin balls. i don't know the exact recipe but they should be easy enough to find online.
it's a mixture of ground beef and oats and all kinds of supplements. i gave them to my one dog when i first got him as a stray, he was really skinny and malnourished and after a week of giving him a couple satin balls with his meals he was almost totally filled out. satin balls are used a lot by people with show dogs, they'll give them some for a few days before a show and it'll help them bulk up for the show. they're also used a lot by rescues to help dogs gain weight :)
hope this helps but i really don't think she needs it :P
and again, very very beautiful dog

She looks very healthy to me. Generally, it's ideal for a dog's waistline to be visible when looking down from above, but not pronounced or dramaticly thin. So being able to see it a good thing.
I can see her ribs, but only just barely, which is also a good place to be. They are not pronounced, which you see often in too-thin dogs, and her tummy doesn't seem to be too sucked in, either. I would classify her as the thinner end of the healthy spectrum. If you feel that she is too thin, I would say she could afford to put on *slightly* more weight, but no more than a pound or so.

If the vet says she is at a good weight, and she never acts tired or lethargic, then she should be fine.
She doesn't look underweight, she looks very normal. The other dogs that are rounder are most likely less active and given different food. Also, if they are classes overweight, then isn't that a bad thing? you want your dog to be at an average weight.
Phoebe looks trim and fit, not skinny. she looks just like an active dog should.

She looks slightly underweight but hard to tell from a photo. You should be able to feel her ribs without pressing too hard, but they shouldn't be overly visible, neither should the spine or hips
Skinners is a rubbish food. About 17% meat if my memory serves me right. Your dog is a carnivore, that means only 17% of what she's eating is any real good to her

Anyone with any common sense would listen to their vet and not a bunch of strangers online. Your dog looks great.

Give her a chance, she's still a pup.
