Serious question about priests ?
Okay, I'm not trying to be a wise guy or stir up trouble - or looking to get reported, I just have a question about priests and I mean absolutely no offense to them or the church. We all know that priests cannot marry and they take a vow of celibacy, but, and I really am curious and serious - this may sound silly, but are they allowed to masturbate without it being considered a sin ? I'm not going to read any stupid comments - I'm honestly just curious.

I think that's a fair question. And I would sure hope that celibacy does not include masturbation.

If you want to know about the sexual habits of priests just ask the alterboys.... They know all too well.

No. Masturbation is considered a sexual activity, and thus they are to refrain from it. Their vows include abstaining from all sexual activity - straight, gay, or all by themselves.

Celibacy in the RCC has nothing to do with Holiness as many believe. It was brought into favor in the twelfth century at the Second Lateran Council held in 1139. Why? Because priests were giving church property to family members!
To do away with NEPOTISM and CORRUPTION of this kind, they ruled that priests had to take a celibacy oath so as not to procreate and be tempted by the wealth of the church!
I'm not even kidding. Do the research of old RCC documents! It's all in the public domain.
The "spilling of seed" had nothing to do with the actual SPILLING OF SEED. Here's the verse they've taken out of flawed meaning.
Genesis 38:9 KJV
9 And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.
God wasn't upset because he spilled his seed instead of "finishing". He was upset that Onan REFUSED to get his wife pregnant and dedicate that child to his dead brother. You see, way back when, when a brother died, his wife was given in marriage to the next son in line. This was to protect her. The first son she and the new husband, the dead brother's brother, had was to be given over to the dead brother as an heir.
Onan refused God. THIS is why God was angry with him--not because he didn't finish inside her. He was being selfish, defiant and prideful.
It has absolutely NOTHING to do with masturbation. I wish people would study HISTORY and CULTURE with the Bible so they've have some ACCURATE information.

No masterbation is considered a mortal sin and is not allowed for anyone

Odd question but valid. No research has been done in this area. For obvious reasons.
