Do you need ID to cash a paycheck?

Your school ID, if you go to a public school, is government issued ID. Your ID appears adequate. The bank may still not cash the check if the check isn't drawn on an account at TD bank, or you do not have an account at TD bank.

If you have a parent who can give you the cash, you can sign the back of the check (endorse) to them. At the backside of the check, at the top of the check, sign "Pay to XXX" and your name, where XXX is the name of the person who can then cash it.

You need to check with your bank but I bet you need a government issued ID. Go to the driver's license office & get a photo ID. You don't have to have a driver's license. Or get a bank account & ask to have your check direct deposited.

Bobbie- TD is open usually Saturdays and for a couple hours on Sundays.

It's tough to say because you are a minor. Most banks will cash a cheque for you, but if you don't have an account with them, they may charge you an outrageous fee.

You are at the age where you should probably have some type of government I.D. but you will have to talk to someone at the bank to find out for sure.

Also do you not have ANY bank accounts? Time to get one.

That being said, if it is a a work cheque, talk to your manager. When I worked lower paying jobs, we could cash our cheques at work.

And you do know that today is Saturday 05/17/2014 and the bank will NOT be open until Monday 5/19/2014 for business hours at that time.

To open your account and make your deposit at that time and find out if you do need to get a state issued ID card from the DMV for this purpose at that time.
