Is my dog being spiteful or does she have anxiety?
My dog is a little over 1 yr old now. She is a boxer mix. She is very well behaved when we are home. When we leave to go places for not even an hour we let her loose in the house. Lately she has been chewing and breaking things. What i find strange about it is she only chooses one item each time. The first time it was my daughters pen. The second time now its a cable remote. There are multiple things she could have chewed on I.E her toys but she chooses to destroy other things.
So i am trying to figure this out is it anxiety or is she just being spiteful?

Might be boredom, or anxiety. Getting a crate and training her to be one will be best. I don't recommend dogs have free range of a large room when no one is home because the could chew or eat something that would make them sick, or worse. Sounds more like she just gets bored when no one is home and picks an item to keep her amused until you get back. A dog with anxiety will generally completely destroy things and make a bigger mess.
Crate train her, and you won't have to worry about what she eats/chews on. Your stuff won't get broke, everyone is happier and less stressed. Dogs aren't spiteful. I don't think they're capable of it.

Dogs are NOT capable of being spiteful. I personally would still be crate training until 1.5. Years.
