Wedding bouquet help? Flower choices?
I'm going to be having a December wedding and need some help choosing the flowers for my bouquet. My favorite flower has always been carnations and I know they will be in season. What else is? Or what else would look good with carnations?
Also our wedding colors are mint, gold, white and navy as an accent color. Difficult colors as far as flowers go, but what do you think would look good? I need someone with more experience than I have! Thanks!

baby's breath will add a nice filler and background to your bunch. Add some fabric lace as well with satin ribbons.

Many flowers are now available year round, due to the availability of air travel. Flowers are shipped into the USA from Europe, South America, Africa, and Australia daily.
You may want to select only one or two of your colors for your personal flowers. If you do decide to use all four in your flowers, do be sure to bring along color swatches to your florist of choice. As for flowers that are in those colors, here are some to look up.
Mint can be done in the foliages that are used to back your bouquets. Also available should be mums, bells of ireland, amaranthus (love lies bleeding), and alstromeria.
Navy blue- there are no natural colored flowers that are navy blue. Flower color can be adjusted with spray paint just for flowers. Most "blue" flowers have quite a bit of purple in them or are light blue. Here are a few that are fairly true and available in December. Hydrangea, pale blue iris, and delphinium in pale blue and royal blue. Purple statice can be made navy blue quite easily.
Gold-metallic or yellow? Ribbons or bouillon or other trim if metallic. Yellow gold-mums, mini carnations, alstromeria, lilies, roses, spray roses, mini callas.
White flowers will be the easiest to source because that is a traditional color for the month of December. Some flowers available are roses, mums, mini carnations, mini callas, stars of Bethlehem, lilies, alstromeria, larkspur, delphinium, snapdragons, baby's breath, statice, riceflower, heather, gardenias, stephanotis, cymbidium, phalaenopsis, or dendrobium orchids.
Google is a good place for images of cut flowers. Pinterest is also a good place to look for specific colors of wedding bouquets. Also be sure to look for styles of bouquets.
