Bellybutton piercing?

I got my bellybutton pierced on Friday and was told to apply neosporin and wash with antibacterial soap and I've been doing this since Saturday but I just heard I'm not supposed to put neosporin on it so if I stop the neosporin now will I still get an infection?

Stop now to avoid any irritation. Also, stop with the antibacterial soap as it is too harsh. The Association of Professional Piercers recommends you avoid it so it needs to be avoided.

Sea salt/saline soaks twice a day for 5-10 minutes each soak. Soak a sterile gauze pad either in a sterile saline spray with no additives or a solution of exactly 1/4th of a teaspoon of non-iodized sea salt to 8oz of hot water. That solution makes it be what saline is and what will help our bodies heal so it is important that it is exact.

I've had mine done three times. For the three or four days after getting it done you apply Neosporin. And pour alcohol on it and move the bell ring around, that helps to spread the alcohol all through the belly ring and helps it heal really well.

I'd suggest a soak with sea salt and luke warm water about once a week.

Fill a shot glass 3/4 full with warm water, put a dash of sea salt (NOT IODIZED) in the warm water. Getting it over your entire belly button is a bit of a trick, but can be done. Be sure to push down gently on the shot glass as you sit down. Lean back so the water covers the ring and while still applying pressure, swish the water around for about 10ish mins. rinse when done.

Keep it clean, only mess with it with clean hands.
