Should I put stuff from my fridge into the freezer for a power outage?

My power is going to be out for 12 hours tomorrow and I won't be home all day. Before I leave, should I put the meat and cheese that is in my fridge into my freezer so it won't go bad, or is that a bad idea?

I would crank your freezer and fridge down to their coldest setting tonight and then not open the door in the morning. Everything will be fine and stay cold enough over the 12 hours if you keep it closed.
