I'm looking for a thousand dollar bill. I've looked on ebay BUT how do I know if their real?

Any suggestions on where else to look?

Where would you try to buy one?

When dealing with these, you want to buy only professionally-certified authentic notes on eBay unless it is a very trusted seller with a high feedback score and a history of dealing in this material. You need to check both feedback and what it is they sell. From actual main-line dealers outside of eBay, you should be OK, they will not risk their reputation selling counterfeits.

. The small-size notes are 1928, 1934, and 1934A. They don't come cheap. You may be able to score a very limp, tattered one for an $100 premium over face value - they are still legal tender - but anything in Very Fine or better is going to go over the $2,000 mark.

The big bullion seller Apmex sells them, and you won't find a single example priced under $2k.

    Bank

Call first to see if you can get one at any of the main banks - they may not be circulating now.
