Am I the only one who thought the finale of The Mentalist season 6 was lame?

I really like The Mentalist and I have followed every season since the third season started, warming up with a The Mentalist marathon before the season premiers. Just to give you an idea of how well I know the show. Just a little warning, this will contain spoilers - especially from 6x22 Blue Bird.

I was very anxious to see how this whole Lisbon/Jane romance thing would play out this season, now that Red John is out of the picture I expected that their romance would be the cliffhanger/major event of the finale. I just watched the season finale and I thought the whole thing was such a cliche and I felt embarrassed while watching it. I didn't find it very believable considering how Patrick usually acts with people, Lisbon in particular. The whole episode felt very predictable - I knew Jane set up the whole thing as soon as Abbott said Lisbon's transfer had to wait until the case was solved. And that Lisbon would find out. And that she would be mad. And that Jane would have to go after her and make up. I just hoped the writers were smarter and did that on purpose to surprise us with a twist.

The whole episode felt like a typical chick-flick… I expected a little bit more, I guess.

What's your opinion? Too much of a cliche or did you like it? … and why??

Update:

To clarify: Of course I wanted Jane and Lisbon to finally get together(come on already!), but the way it happened is what I thought was lame.

The structure (he risks to lose her -> he rushes to declare his true feelings before it's too late) and the plane scene were really, really cliché, you're right.

I liked the opening scene (reminded me of 1x01 and 6x01, case solved in 5 minutes), and even Jane's predictable plan... I don't know, even if the viewers could understand from almost the beginning it was a set-up, it seemed to me a really Jane-like way to try and act his feelings: a con, something funny but that could also explode while you handle it (like the whole "Violets" episode). And the classic chick-flick parts were a little lightened up by the fun element: Cho and Abbott for the fight at the hotel, potential killers coming and going from Jane's room ("Oh, dude!" xD) for the talk that moves Jane final resolution, the airport guy for the kiss.

I didn't like the FBI don't getting Jane's con from the beginning, and Lisbon's flashes of OOCness. I supported her decision to try and build a life without Jane, but seriously... We see that two of the things she hates about Jane are his lies and manipulation and the fact he's afraid of speaking or showing his true feelings, but in the end she just ends up doing the same: getting angry with the man she clearly loves and agreeing to marry Pike on the rebound (when she's totally not happy about it, just see the phone call), then probably dumping him (ok maybe he deserved the "He'll understand" a little, since it's what he had said about Jane :P).

And then, I didn't like the plane stopping (seriously, after 9/11 you can show no ID, climb a fence, run to a plane, knock on the door and they just... let you in?), and the delcaration maybe was a little to cheesy, but I liked seeing Jane breaking down for once and hell, Simon Baker is so amazing that can act even the most romantic line and make it feel quite natural (or maybe it is just as the lady next to Lisbon said: "Every woman on this plane is green with envy"... And not only those on the plane. ^^)

All things considered, I liked this episode... I wouldn't have liked it so much if it had been the series finale, but since it's a season finale I think it makes room for interesting future developments anyway (maybe we'll finally get to see Jane deal with an "almost normal" life, for example). I hope S7 will be well planned, both in the crime and in the relationships apsect.

Lisbon is Europe's second-oldest capital and when house to the world's greatest explorers like Vasco da Gama, Magellan and Prince Henry the Navigator, becoming the initial true earth town, the capital of an empire scattering overall continents, from South America (Brazil) to Asia (Macao, China; Goa, India) and know you can invest a few time to know that ancient town, with hotelbye is where you ought to start. The most acknowledged of Lisbon's significant attractions may be the St. George's Castle. That fort instructions a wonderful position near Alfama on the top of a hill overlooking the Portuguese capital. That is certainly one of Lisbon's most popular tourist destinations. Their extraordinary battlements, participating memorial, and exciting archaeological site combine to really make the fort a rewarding knowledge for all the family, and kiddies particularly will love clambering over the tough walls and towers that encircle the grounds.
