Why is it impossible to prove that God does not exist?

Science gives much support to the existence of God (The Intelligent Designer) consider this..What if you came across a beautiful house that was well designed, beautiful architecture with all the efficiencies of comfortable living such as Plumbing ,heating ,cooling and a security system. Inside this house everything was beautifully finished with well crafted pieces. Functional suitable furniture. WHO would you give credit to for this magnificent design? Some man or woman would rightly get the credit.

Even though every material that was used was not original to their creation they would still get the credit for putting it together so beautifully.

Without even considering the vast, mathematical precision and exquisiteness of your entire universe, but just focusing on the earth itself with its intricate water systems, laws of gravity, eco systems , migration, perfect oxygen hydrogen to carbon ratio to sustain life, Natural Resources, minerals ,vegetation animal variety, it's beauty awesomeness. Who would you give credit to regarding these things? This illustration only touches on a fraction of a fraction of the intelligent design in creation. Can any man take credit for originating any of this?

You will give credit to a man or woman who can only Design a house, but not give well deserved praise to the one who Created the universe.

This scripture applies here

Romans 1: 21,22

"For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward...

It's not - provided that you define him first.

The only reason that most believers think their favorite deity hasn't been disproved is because they haven't the courage to supply a definition for it. If one assumes that the deity commonly referred to as "God" (with a capital G) is the one described in the Bible, the definition that can be inferred from that description is actually fairly easy to disprove. Since parts of the description refute other parts of the description.

As far as your example of a well-designed house ...

Let's just say that the universe isn't really much like a house. Even less like a well designed one.

How can the universe create itself out of nothingness? Doesn't it make sense to assume the existence of a Creation. This statement is tricky because it sneaks in the false assumption that GOD came from somewhere and then asks where that might be. The answer is that the question does not even make sense. It is like asking, “What does blue smell like?” Blue is not in the category of things that have a smell, so the question itself is flawed. In the same way, GOD is not in the category of things that are created or caused. GOD is uncaused and uncreated—He simply exists.

We know that from nothing, nothing comes. So, if there were ever a time when there was absolutely nothing in existence, then nothing would have ever come into existence. But things do exist. Therefore, since there could never have been absolutely nothing, something had to have always been in existence. That ever-existing being is what we call GOD ,GOD is the un-caused Being that caused everything else to come into existence. God is the uncreated Creator who created the universe and everything in it.

The universe requires a cause because it had a beginning, GOD unlike the universe, had no beginning, so he doesn’t need a cause. Einstein’s theory of general relativity, which has much experimental support, shows that time is linked to matter and space. So time itself would have begun along with matter and space. Since GOD is the creator of the whole universe, he is the creator of time. Therefore He is not limited by the Reality, Time dimension He created..

You can't see the wind, but you know it is there because you can see what the wind is doing. You can know that the wind is there because you can feel it.GOD is like the wind, you can't see him.

  • If God was so great at designing everything, why did he "design" our pain, our suffering, our death, etc.

Sounds like he screwed up to me.

Or maybe the world isn't perfect because it WASN'T designed.

OMG... It makes so much sense!!

    >>Science gives much support to the existence of God<<

    ROFL, no it does not.

    >>WHO would you give credit to for this magnificent design?<<

Lets see...the architect, the lumber mill, the lumber yard, the forklift driver, all the builders, the drywallers, the painters, the plumbers, the electricians, the roofers, the landscapers, the interior decorators, the furniture designers, the furniture builders, the cabinet makers, the appliance makers, the salespeople...

What? You think one person did it all?

So please, spare us the ridiculous Watchmaker's fallacy.

    Amen!

Like many atheists, the issue of people believing in God can be bothered by it greatly. What is it about atheists that they would spend so much time, attention, and energy refuting something that don't believe even exists?

They attributed there intentions as caring for those poor, delusional people to help them realize their hope was completely

    ill-founded.

As they challenged those who believed in God, They can be deeply curious to see if they could be convince otherwise.

Many are on the quest to become free from the question of God. If they could conclusively prove to believers that they were wrong, then the issue is off the table, and they would be free to go about there life.

But to realize that the reason the topic of God weighed so heavily on there mind, was because God was pressing the issue. They have come to find out that God wants to be known. He created us with the intention that we would know him. He has surrounded us with evidence of himself and he keeps,

Source(s): the question of his existence squarely before us. It was as if they couldn't escape thinking about the possibility of God. It might be that the underlying reason atheists are bothered by people believing in God is because God is actively pursuing them. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vLt0NuWAdTo

What if you came across a vast and endless lifeless desert, and at some insignificant corner of it, you find one tiny oasis, would you conclude that the entire desert was intelligently designed for fish?

It depends how you define God.

If you define God in such a way that it implies internal contradictions or contradictions with reality, then we can disprove God.

If God is unfalsifiable, then we cannot disprove God.

Generally, any falsifiable god will instantly become unfalsifable *after* it is shown to be contradictory, by the use of ad hoc hypotheses.

Other gods, like an omnipotent god that "cannot do evil because of his nature" are obviously contradictions, whether Christians accept it or not.

Because invisibility and non-existence are very, very similar.

It is just as easy to prove that the FSM does not exist.

That's why the FSM was invented, don't cha know?
