What is the craziest excuse that gun nuts trot out after the weekly gun massacre?

There's no excuse for mass murders like that. On the other hand, proponents of gun rights understand that the spoiled brat crazy kid used the gun; the gun didn't make the boy crazy. Want to make it easier to lock people up against their will, without too much evidence? Start a movement.

Conservatives just want a rational discussion on gun control. The reality is that there is no way to control guns from getting into the hands of the wrong people. It is stupid to start a movement to lock people up against their will without having a lot of evidence. The government used to do that but it did not work ,remember the insane asylums that the government thought would be a great idea to close down. I am not against locking a dangerous person up ,but the government should have a lot of evidence before doing so.

They falsely defer to mental illness as a cause of the choice of violence, when it is a matter of choice. Behavior is always a choice, and so is an individual's reasoning capacity. If they're able to plan, plot and carry out an attack--they can plan their day or decisions. That is all that is necessary to prove a person's guilty in committing a plan to harm people. They sign when they purchase a gun, that they are willing to face the consequences for such a decision or deviation from civility.
