Torrent windows recovery disks legit or nay?
I can 't seem to get windows vista oem recovery disk for hp dc7800 usdt anywhere. i even called microsoft and stupid helpdesk just said go to a local store.i live in nz so that's its so hard.i contacted microsoft number of ways and number of departments and they all say we don't have it.
so i turned to piratebay and found some torrents.how do i know if this torrents are legit?how do i know they don't contain virsuses?how do i know they don't have a tracking code or password memorising code that would send my password to some hacker?

OEM files can only be provided from the manufacturer itself, neither from Microsoft nor from vendor.
You can't trust this source whatsoever even if the torrent have high seeders or high thumbs up. Download the file completely at your own risk and be prepared if your data is gone forever or the system becomes inaccessible.
As far as virus is concerned, consider looking for any suspicious files in downloaded zip folder and remove it immediately. Virus itself can have tracking code to monitor your activity over web and steal credentials without notifying you.
I'd still recommend you to download the Image file of Windows installation and create a bootable DVD to perform a fresh installation.
