If your child died and you buried it in your yard, who would ever know?

Question

Say you had a toddler, and he/she died due to sickness, abuse, whatever.  You dig a 6 foot grave and bury the child at night.  Since the child hasn't started school, and you simply told everyone he/she went to live with relatives, would there be a way they would ever catch them?  Is it illegal to bury your child on your property?  
Please don't jump to conclusions that I am going to do this, I just think this is what somebody else did, but no one cares, especially the police.

if you can prove it--where the child is buried, police officers will investigate.    There is no perfect crime and at the end, God will judge this person for murder and will be punished for all eternity.  Murders will not enter Heaven

even if you discount the issue of mishandling and illegal burial of a corpse and not following laws regarding a death generally

there is the simple fact that when it is discovered serious questions will be raised about the circumstances of the death

you could well imagine an investigation of murder or death through neglect

why anyone would expose themselves to that is quite puzzling

I won't buried it. And the fact that  you are ask random people and not telling the police if you think someone did this show how much people today jus don't care to confront others
