People seem to dislike me?

I don't know if it's my looks, personality, behavior, or attitude but in my perspective people seem to dislike me. I am shy and I keep to myself and my thoughts. When I am around it gets quiet, awkward and the atmosphere is tense especially at work. I shouldn't dive into the opinions of others but it bothers me that I don't get along with people and how I am not good at making conversation.

I'm quiet, shy and keep to myself as well mostly because I feel like I'm an awkward person though people say otherwise. And yeah, I've been in situations where conversations sometimes became silent when I walk into a class. I think the reason why people are sometimes silent around those like us is because they don't know how to speak around us. How can they when we give them little chance to even get to know us? I know the feeling, I'm even afraid to approach first so I hardly EVER will :)

A lot of people are shy, but that doesn't stop conversation when they're around. What usually will stop conversation is if people are talking about something they think you will disapprove of. This could be anything from them being concerned you might report them for something they said, to racy conversations that they know you wouldn't approve of. For some reason you may have the reputation of being judgmental.

Things are not always as they seem. Think about what you are saying. When you get around people you get quiet you get awkward and you get tense. It is you that thinks you don't get along with people and you are not good at making conversation. Whether that is true is up to YOU.
