What to do if a tick has bitten my dog?

I pulled a tick off my dog this evening, I believe it's been there most of the day, if not a wee bit longer. There was definitely a bite. I definitely got the entire tick (head and all) when I pulled it off, and it bled a little bit. Is there anything I need to do otherwise?

Nope, I've had fleas and ticks on my dogs. I'd wash the place were it was with a damp cloth. Don't rub too hard. If you remove the head, then he'll be fine.
