7th Grade Math Homework Help?

I am having trouble on my math homework about Geometric Figures and solving for "x" in angles. Please help me with this particular problem. GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! PLEASE ANSWER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!! THANK YOU!!!

    Well since a straight line is 180 degrees, and the angles with the small boxes are 90 degrees...180-90= 90. So now you have 3x to figure out. You already know 3x=90 because you just figured that out. So now do 3x/3=90/3. You want to figure out x alone so you divide it by 3 and you do the same on the opposite side of the = sign. 90/3=30. Therefore, x=30.
