What does it mean when a car bogs down from the A/C going on?

I wanna know what it means exactly and is that normal?

Update:

Its a 1990 Cadillac Deville with a 4.5 liter V8.

    That's what I thought but hopefully it's not a vacuum leak.

    Bogs way down and doesn't recover? Check for vacuum leaks first, then the idle control valve.
