What do you think of people who force you to destroy or abandon a garden?

I have a food garden sub-leased on rented land. Now the tenant wants me to destroy it because he's vacating. (I made arrangements with landlord to keep it for the season). Now, what vile character would destroy sacred Food? It's a crime no matter what! Your views, please.

    supermarkets trash about 40% of the food on their shelves. before they started locking it away in a trash compactor i ate like a kind for free. watch the documentary "dive!" and see all the amazing food going in the trash every day.
