    Check for used, in "fair" condition. Best place is Craig's List. ebay is a gamble I can't afford to take. Or of course a dealer. For mail order dealers i would trust B&H photo or Adorama.

    If you shop around, you might pick something up in the used/second-hand markets...you should do some research - you could pick up something interesting and fun to use, just because it doesn't have the latest spec doesn't mean cameras that are around 5 to 10 years old aren't still useable.
