A bible is the best gift-study bible. That would help the person in their walk with God. Or even a few Christian CD's of your favourite worship leaders or sermons of your favorite pastor in the new walk with Christ. Charles Stanley is who I cut my Christian teeth on. Joyce Meyer's book, Battlefield of the Mind, is not bad either.

Consider giving a charitable gift in honor of their baptism. One such idea might be a Gideon Bible. It honors your friends and places God's word in the hand of someone who doesn't have one.

Ring up the church on behalf of the person getting baptised and cancel the ceremony.
Then book a plane to vegas and have some fun!!
