My Mom Ruined My Plans?!?
So me and my friends had been planning to go to a midnight premiere for The Fualt In Our Stars. My mom said that's fine and that she'll have to go too, but didn't care. But all of a sudden, three of my friends said they might not be able to go because their parents aren't okay with it being at midnight. Now my mom's saying that she doesn't want to go unless they go, but this is really important to me! Even if a few of my friends don't go, some of them still are and I don't want my mom to ruin my plans of going to this movie! This is so important to me and I really just want to do this. We have to go to school the next day, but it'll be our end-of-year party so we won't be doing any work. Please help!

Ho hum. Yes, ask others to go, if this is the deal breaker for your mom. Its great that she was even willing to let you go in the first place, and especially that she is willing to go along as a chaperone (for your safety!), since adults get tired and need their sleep that late at night. What a great mom! You can do it, if other friends go. Plan 2: see the movie at some other time, during the DAY !

If your mom has to work the next day then I don't blame her. I'm 30 years old now and looking back I would do now most of the things my mother did when I was growing up. Of course, I didn't understand it at the time and thought it unfair. Try looking at it from your moms point of view. Or try sitting down and having a real talk with her if its that important to you.

there is nothing you can do, you cant force your mom to go, just tell her you really want to go and you are willling to do something for her if she goes with you.
