Help with a weird check cashing situation please?
Tomorrow I will receive a handwritten payroll check. The check does not list an associated bank, only the name of our business. As well, I am moving and have to cancel my bank account tomorrow morning (yes, I have to cancel it, it is a local credit union and I will no longer be local). How can I cash this check? I cannot go to Wal-Mart because they do not accept handwritten checks. I cannot do it at my own bank because I am withdrawing all my funds and then asking for the amount of the check in addition to that. I need to get this money tomorrow. Any ideas?
I believe the bank name is unlisted because it is coming out of a house account and is not technically a payroll check, but maybe I'm wrong. The business I work for recently changed management, so this is how we've been getting checks for the time being. There is no bank name listed, but I have always been able to deposit and use my money from these checks.

Unfortunately, your question is missing something.
A check CAN NOT have listed the name of the bank upon which it is drawn.

the check you describe is not a valid check draft.
