Quite a variety of possibilities, I'm sure.

Sensible people will see mental illness the same way they see physical illness, and want to help in whatever way they can.

Religious crazies will talk about god's judgement of a sinner.

I am a Christian with mental illness. It's no different than having diabetes, for example. It's a chemical imbalance and meds help keep them balanced. I enjoy a close relationship with God and my Christian friends. Prayer and reflecting on God's promises help me get through rough times.

Revelation 21:3,4 "God will wipe out every tear form our eyes and death with be no more..."

Psalms 37:27 The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it."

    I can't speak for everyone, but I here's what I believe.

Depression is often caused by not doing God's will or seeking it or caring about it (even if the person doesn't realize it)

Anxiety problems are caused by lacking faith in God to see you through a problem. It could also be that you are not doing God's will and you don't have God's protection; in this case you should be anxious.

I'm not sure about scitzophrenia. It could be demonic possession, or it could be the extreme effects of sin causing a variety of problems.

There could also be physiological problems such as a persons brain has not developed correctly.

Can't think of any others but that's my 2 cents

    EDIT:

There could also be other factors contributing to each illness, but I think often times what I have described is the cause.

alot of them are brought on by the things we are exposed to in the environment, food, brainwashing in media ect .. it sums up and falls under the 'deception' heading .. following God and His word protects one and their family so much more than we realize ..

  • a very real set of conditions.... requires professional help to deal with...... along with as much loving support as can be found.....

I am a Christian. I believe mental illness is an illness, just like any other illness. Just as the body can have problems with it, so the brain which is part of the body can also have things that are wrong with it. I believe the best treatments for mental illness are medication and counseling. Also, having a relationship with God brings peace of mind.

Jesus thought that "devils" caused mental illness. Jesus sure was smart, huh?

It stems from the antichrist...alias atheism and homopobia
