Should MLB suspend Manny Machado?
The boy caused both benches to clear after tossing his bat toward 3rd base and he also clipped Oakland catcher Derek Norris in the head with his back swing...twice. I can understand the boy being frustrated because he's stunk on ice since last September but at the rate he's going someone is going to get hurt.
Should MLB sit him down until he grows up and plays the game like a man?

Suspend him for the rest of the season, and make him work in a homeless shelter cleaning toilets with a toothbrush. Machado is a disgrace to baseball.
Here's his reaction to hitting catcher Derrick Norris in the head with his bat for the second time. Total girly man.

It's tough for people to get a good idea of the things that led to Machado's instability. We know about the tag out at third from a couple days ago. But some may not know that he struck the catcher twice with a dramatic follow thru, and gave the catcher a concussion. He didn't even look the catcher's way to say sorry or even acknowledge the contact, just stood there smiling. Video below.

Going just by a clip or two or what Espn showed on Sportscenter doesnt always show the whole story. I watched the game. Machado needs help, but O dont know if there is a strong enough veteran presence on the O's to give it.

Three to five games should do it.
Next time he should either already take the HBP and go to first base or not start to swing at an obvious ball when the ball already is above home plate. Considering that Machado clipped Norris twice with a back swing and smiled like the cocky teenager child he appears to be, he should have known that there is a reason why the pitcher tried to hit him.
In a league where people get mad if someone celebrates his home run too hard or if someone walks in front of a catcher instead of behind him, Machado should know that doing what he did just can result in him getting disrespects.

Pitchers get suspended for throwing behind pitchers for what is deemed intentional all the time. Machado clearly threw that bat into the field with the idea of hitting somebody. It goes without saying that a bat is more dangerous than a ball hitting somebody, in my opinion he should get a very lengthy suspension. There is no room for this in baseball, if he had a problem with what had happened in the series he should have handled it like a man and said it to his face and not risk seriously injuring another player.

I would have to agree with Michael, throwing a bat with the intent to hit a player is far more egregious than intentionally trying to hit a player with a pitch. I would think the five to ten game range would be sufficient to send a message that this type of bush league behavior is not going to be tolerated.

Much ado about nothing...I just watched the video and it wasn't near any players of the A's so the catcher saying something to him also helped incite him further. Another thing is the first dude to come from the bench and confront Manny should be fined as well. Any one knows if you rush out there to "counsel" an opposing player it will only serve to rally the opposing troops around there player.
He's being a dick but the umpire should have handled it.
If he hurt another player then he should be handed a fine/suspension.
Someone doesn't agree with me ... now I am sad :)

I think a 5 game suspension will make him learn and think twice about acting a fool again. He needs to act professional and learn to play baseball the right way.
