Masters Degree?

I have heard it is better to get your Masters Degree from a different school than you earned your bachelors degree from.

Is this accurate?

If so why?

    Yes. And even more important to get your Ph.D. from a different school. The idea is that if you take classes with all the same teachers, you're only getting one way of looking at things.

    Yes and no; the theory is that you would get a different perspective on things and possibly even different opportunities. However, if the university you are at offers a really great masters program, then they may be no reason to go elsewhere.
