advice on a crush?

i'm in 8th grade and i just started liking this guy who i've known for a while, he's really really funny and makes everyone laugh so hard because hes weird in a funny way. he's really good looking and nice and i have 2 classes with him. we talk occasionally but sometimes i feel like he likes me (like as a friend) and sometimes i feel like he doesn't at all. like sometimes he talks to me a lot and sits next to me in class and sometimes he kind of acts like i'm not even there, i don't know if he's unobservant or what lol. i'm probably just really overthinking it but what should i do to become better friends with him?? i don't want to seem like i like him so i don't want to talk to him or text him too much he would probably get annoyed. but also school is ending really soon what should i do? thanksss!
