Are we in danger of over or underpopulation?

Politics aside, these are facts. In the U.S and Western Europe, women on average are having 2 (1.7) or less children because of economic reasons, abortion and contraceptives, making the child bearing average the lowest in recorded history. The replacement generation, (our kids) are going to be nearly half of today's population. On the other hand the 3rd world countries, especially Islamic states, women are having 7 children each on average... What does this mean for our future? What will the effects be? Why is the media telling us that we're overpopulated?

I really think that you are going to get the over populated answer from people who lives in cubes stacked on top of each other and the underpopulated answers from people who live in less populated areas. I can remember driving for hours on I 40 in the mid west without seeing a homestead or a town so I would say under populated. Those people who hate crowding should do something about it and move to a less populated place. There is plenty of room to be had by all! I do think that the world's population is destroying the Earth by not properly disposing of environmental hazards and using too much gas. Stores need to start using paper bags again and people should use recyclable bags and create less waste. The great pacific garbage patch needs to be cleaned up. People need to start farming more or their own food and demanding products with less packaging. I shop at thrift stores to do my part. I am not an environmentalist but I do believe in being environmentally responsible. It isn't the world that is over populated it is the way that people are using the world that is a problem.

To have an increase: Two people must produce more than themselves which is replacement but the increase starts at three children; yet, your neighbors must do the the same or you're still UNDERPOPULATED, due to those that don't know where babies come from, and go looking at all the wrong places, looking under a rock is preferred while waiting for enlightenment from above. Is this where: dumb as a rock, got started?

Europe is getting hit with this and are finding that foreigners that have hate for them are taking over; what a sad price to pay for immorality and killing their off-spring. Such countries should deport the abortionists first and save the beautiful babies...Oh, well, what are politicians for? When they provide the abortionists and others a free discourse of infections of their lack of principles...

When you all get rid of me and others of like mindedness, you'll get the total destruction of the human nucleus called a FAMILY. But if you never had one, you don't comprehend at all... The support that comes from the male side of the family doubles the connections and support for the children. But without Jesus Christ there is NO morales, and what a loss to those that wanted to be ignorant to begin with and put up a phony,"You're mean" to keep the genuine REALITY covered....And the blind keep going and going into pits, that CAN be avoided by those that think, before they go skinny dipping, just anywhere...

True Love, is considering the Good of the other ONLY...

The world population will soon peak and then go into irreversible decline, demographics. Countries that already have a birthrate below the replacement level, 2.1, depend on immigration to keep their economy going and pay bills for the 'aging population.' The world never was and never will be overpopulated. Overpopulation is a cult belief dovetailing with the cult belief in man made global warming. (The world is cooling factually.)

That could never happen. It only seems that way because we are all puppets that eat out of the same bowl. We haven't a clue as to what is going on and those that say don't know.... and those that know don't say.

We're not over, or under populated.

A lot of people like to suggest that there's a 'magic number' but reality is, there isn't, humanity balances out, that's a law of large numbers(it's a fundamental of math), there's plenty of room left(we only inhibit 8% of all the inhabitable land), and we still throw away more than 80% of all we produce(so if we become less wasteful, there's plenty of food too).

Are you kidding? What would you rather choose? Widespread social problems as a result of an ageing population, or the world running out of clean food and water? Water is already referred to as "blue gold", and we are polluting it at a massive rate. In the future wars will be fought over water. No way in hell are we "under-populated". Not anywhere in the world.

We are over-populated. Anyone who says we aren't is burying their heads in the sand. And anyone who says Westerners should start breeding to outnumber "dem muslims" are just racists. There are enough people here, and too many people having children, and too many resources being used. The planet's lungs (algae beds and rainforests), are being destroyed, we are all going straight to hell.

Yes, mother nature will probably sort this out...but personally I think less people having children would be a less painful way than epidemics, natural disasters and ecological cataclysms.

And yes, women do NOT owe the world children. We are not broodmares. If we choose to have smaller families or no families at all, you are just going to have to suck that **** up because we are not men's slaves anymore.

Personally, I think the world became overpopulated a while ago and it's a good thing it's slowing down.

A million babies murdered each year in the U.S alone + birth control. The meek will inherit the earth.

Neither. If you put the entire world's population in Texas, it would be less crowded than Hong Kong.

Because on average we are overpopulated. (Side note: women don't owe the world children)
