How would you react to a special needs kid assaulting you?

I have been hit, punched, kicked and bitten by children with special needs. I never disciplined, I also worked with them. By the time they left school, they were well behaved, respectful and kind.

What they need is understanding an patience. Disciplining a child with special needs is like punishing someone with a broken leg for not running fast enough.

depends on how they react. children with special needs are probably a lot more emotionally sensitive, so you shouldn't correct or reprimand them in front of everyone, or they may act out more, and develop confidence problems.

gonna have to be a lot more patient, and tell them how to behave in private. tell them in a loving but serious tone that that it's wrong to hit people, and detail them the type of discipline they'll face, etc... etc...

How about if all you fcukbrains who don't know what you're talking about just shut the hell up and let professional teachers deal with this?

If I thought that they were at all threatening my well being then I would do whatever was needed to protect myself. All children are in need of discipline "special" or not.

Yes, people with special needs still need to learn the same lessons as much as they can. They also need manners and they still need to respect people
