Will installing Linux fix blue-screen-of-death?
I bought a cheap laptop off of eBay. I thought it was working well until I started getting blue screens. I've done everything I can to fix it, but nothing helps. I can't reinstall windows, because I don't have the cd. If I install Linux, will that fix the problem?

Well, installing Linux will give you an entirely new operating system, so the blue screens won't matter, since you won't be running Windows anymore. So the basic answer to your question is "yes." However, if you're looking for Linux to fix your Windows issues, it won't.
trust me, in the long run, you will be better off with Linux. There's nothing Windows can do that Linux can't, and you have far less issues with security. There are lots of different versions (called "distributions") of Linux, so visit this website to see which one might suit you.

It is not 100% guaranteed. It might be a hardware issue. If it isn't, then yes, it should fix it.
Even reinstalling Windows should fix it if is only a software/hardware conflict.. have you tried booting into Safe Mode/Recovery Mode? If not, might want to look into that.
Also, some computers/laptops offer the option to go into the installation screen (if setup files are in the hard drive), you can access this usually when the device powers up.

The blue screen of death is a result of a malfunction of your Windows system and is itself unique to Windows.
Installing Linux will be good for the computer and I can guarantee you won't get any more blue screens.

The BSOD is uniquely a Windows issue.
So, yes, Linux will fix it.

You will never get a blue screen rerror with Linux. Mostly bad drivers oe corrupted software cause them. So unless it is a serious hardware problem Linux will not have any problems.
