He still young and was one of the tough enough guys back in the early to mid 2000's, so why did he never wrestle?

you know, i was wondering about that as well. i don't know why he never ended up being a wwe wrestler, but it seems like a very good question. if he never wanted to be a wwe wrestler, then why did he enter the tough enough program as a contestant to be a wwe wrestler to begin with?
maybe he just decided not to be a wrestler later on, for some reason.

Realize he was better suited for Interviewer, post show roles; Have you ever seen his 'I'm the sponge' Promo hilarious stuff...but still better suited for a talking role.

I believe he did have a match against Orlando Jordan on an episode of Smackdown

He actually wrestled twice in 2004 which was during Booker T's feud with JBL. First, it was teaming with Booker against JBL and his Chief of Staffs, Orlando Jordan, and finally in a singles bout against Jordan after the latter assaulted him backstage, making his nose bleed in the process. Josh Mathews enjoys working as an interviewer and commentator than wrestling. In fact, he's the only one of the Tough Enough Season 1 alumni that's still around and the longest of the Tough Enough alumni to still be in WWE, with The Miz being second at that but most successful of the alumni for being both a former WWE Champion and ranked #1 of Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Top 500 Wrestlers of 2011.

He wrestled a few matches in 2004 as Booker T's tag team partner when Booker was feuding with JBL over the WWE title Josh helped Booker against the Cabinet but after that feud ended he just became a full time interviewer Josh was more of an enhancement talent and was never going to be used to his full potential so he decided to become a full time interviewer.
