Do Public School Kids Really Dislike Private Schoolers?
From my experience, I've had kids stare at us, laugh, make fun of us, swear at us and even throw things at us (rocks, apples, tennis balls, ect.) I was wondering why we don't really get along-Private is the same as Public, just smaller classes and they periodically wear uniforms. Idk… maybe it's just me, but I was wondering why we're bad to them.
Thanks in advance:D

I've been a private school kid all my life and while it's true there may be some public school kids who dislike us, there are also a ton of public school kids that really don't give a crap and are just as friendly.

I'm not a parent, but a teenager and my parents chose public school for me. I don't really know why they to. When I was younger the school district, even the city was not that bad. Now...the school system is horrible. I guess they chose it on a matter of location. I'm sure my mom could send me to the private school across the street but decided against it because her friend's kids who attended/attend that school say it's no different from the public school across the street she says it's just as bad as the public school. I don't like the school I attend, heck I don't even like the state I'm living in but as long as I'm going to this school and living in this state I might as well make the most of my education and do the best I can so I can get into a good OUT of state college. If your child is motivated to learn and is encouraged to learn and study and do well in school then they'll do just fine in homeschool, public, or private education. The teachers at my public school aren't bad. Most of them aren't anyway, it's just the students who are so lazy and rude and consider getting a D- an excellent thing, they don't have respect for anybody - that's why I work my butt off and study hard to be in the Honors and A.P. classes so I won't have to put up with that crap. My education in public school is doing well. It's not excellent as of now with the levy never have been passed and all. I also think our school needs more extra curriculars, but I think I'm doing good and If I want to learn more I do some research online or read a book or something.

I've never seen a problem I got along with private school kids. My kids got along with private school kids too. Some were their best friends. There are always some bad apples, but overall I think you have an answer looking for a problem that isn't there.

As a teacher I can only say that it all depends on the individual student.
There are students who transferred from private schools to public schools
for various reasons. But that all depends on the attitude of the students and
how the home has effected their attitudes.

we didn't have an issue with private school kids, but on the other hand we were so far removed from any private school....
maybe in areas where they are close & can form a rivalry.....
