Yahoo answers?

I was recently deducted 10 points for an answer that I gave by a "respected yahoo answer member". The answer I gave was a reference to a free website about stock trading. And thus it was a fair answer. How does Yahoo answer pick these "respected" members. When a question is in an opinion state, does not that allow for an opinion to be stated. I was deducted a few years ago as well, for one of those.

I of course will appeal, but it seems very odd that Yahoo would put together a team of "censors" that are so repulsive.

In your answer please add a link to Yahoo answer complaints if they have one, I think there are too many players and to few adults.

You must give an answer to a question and not just say look at this website.

For example if the question was "how do you trade stock?" and your answer was "look at http://blahblah.com"/ it would be a violation. You can give the site as a reference but you should also give a couple of sentences in your own words.

Everyone has a secret trust rating based on many variables. The higher the ratings the less reports required to have something removed. At the highest rating a single report can remove it. At the lowest rating it is ignored.

This is rather a timewasting question if you don't do us the courtesy of telling us what the question was. Or is this more about complaining than understanding what happened?

There are any number of ways that just posting "a reference to a free website about stock trading" could be a violation as an answer - but it needs details of the question to elucidate that.

Contrary to the usual whiners, the majority of deletions are valid. Users get reporting trust from a track record of valid reports.

being a "respected yahoo answer member" means nothing. There are some respected y!a users who are judgmental and mean too. it just really means nothing. being a respected member of y!a is not a promotion to be assistant supervisor or something.
