My dad was extremely disappointed in me and Im feeling suicidal?..?
My dad is usually the one person that i go to if im feeling depressed/sad/angry and he helps talk me through. I wouldn't say he spoils me either, but he gets me certain things that I want if I promise to try my best in school, which was okay, and I honestly, honestly tried. But then came 8th grade graduation. There were SPECIFIC things you needed to do to get certain awards/certificates. Getting over an 80 in your grades all year and perfect attendance were the easiest. But I didnt get any of them. I went home thinking "Awards aren't everything, I did try my hardest and the schoolwork was hard for me." Boy was I wrong. My dad hasn't talked to me through the entire car ride. He smoked outside and i ask my mother if he was mad, so she went to talk to him. I was taking off my shoes inside and overheard my father. "IM SO ******* DISAPPOINTED" and then i broke down shaking in my room, I couldn't believe he said that. I honestly tried SO hard to get good grades but it was hard! I feel like coming into highschool i will never make my dad proud, ever, and i relapsed. He gave me a lecture saying "why didnt you get anything? Is there some sort of problem that you couldn't get a single award?!" But i dont know what to do. He took away my summer saying I couldnt hang out with my best friend of 7 years anymore, and i couldnt text or even hang out anywhere. I dont know what to do. If i cant do anything but study over the summer, what's the point.. Im not even going to impress him anyway...

No matter what you do, he will always love you
You should approach him, and ask him teary eyed why he doesn't love you anymore - that will make him feel guilty and apologize
But honestly, if you really tried your hardest, stayed up night studying, took notes, then you tried your hardest. You can do better than your best.
Your grades are for you, not him.
He was probably upset because he saw a lot of other kids get awards, and you didn't get them.
If he is still mad after the teary eyed thing, dig up your schoolwork that you got a A- or higher, make sure it's a big pile, and just dump the work infront of him
When he saw the other kids get the award for high grades, he probably thought that they worked hard and u didn't
I would talk to him
Good luck! <3

I think that overall your dad means well and he just wants you to do better and in a way, what he says is supposed to motivate you and he may also be angry but that's not your fault. Just do the best you can do, it takes time to develop an effective strategy when it comes to studying. You are lucky your dad cares so much about your future, don't let his anger fool you! He is not perfect and probably doesn't understand how his words affect you. To improve your grades, get tutoring or talk to ur teacher about things you don't understand and make sure you understand once u have talked to them. Please don't feel bad about yourself, your dad is just trying to make sure you end up with great grades and a better life for YOU but he just might be going overboard and not realizing he is mean. Tell him how hurt you are about what he says and that u want to do better and will work on it but u need more help with things u don't understand

I think ur dad is too angry right now.. Give some more time for his anger to melt down ..try to make him understand that failures are the pillars of success

Perfect attendance is no big deal (unless you're cutting school), but if you're persistently earning low grades -- under 80 in everything -- something's wrong. It's not a matter of "impressing" someone but of doing better than just C grades.
Your Dad isn't handling the situation properly. He's focusing on awards, whereas he should be focused on your academic problems. You need to say, "Dad, can we talk?" and then tell him that you're worried because you know he wants you to do well academically but for some reason, you just don't seem to be able to grasp the material in your classes. Say you need help. It may be that tutoring is required.
Good luck.
