Will Converse Chuck Taylors melt in my car?
Ok, so I have a question for all you fellow chucks fans on here. Long story short, I am cramped for space in my current stage, and I need a place to store all my chucks, especially since I've got 4 new pairs on the way here as we speak. Would the trunk of my car be a safe place to keep them with summer coming on? I just worry about the possibility of them getting too warm and the rubber melting. My car is a deep midnight blue so it attracts the heat pretty badly in summer. Although, the summer heat never exceeds the 90s where I live so will my chucks be okay in the trunk? I also have 4 dogs so I hate the idea of leaving my chucks, especially my Made in USA pairs laying around on the floor where they can get to them. Figured my car is the safest place to keep em!?

Unless you're planning to drive through a lava field, your shoes will be fine. Rubber does not melt in heat like that. You're thinking of plastic. Rubber can melt on extremely hot surfaces (say if you were working outside on asphalt and it was well over 100' in the hot sun), but in the shade of your trunk, there is no way that summer temperatures would be hot enough to cook your shoes.
