My digital camera has died. Should I spend £100 on a new one, or put the money towards an iPhone 5 instead?

The question is really, what sort of resolution pix do you get from an iPhone 5? My camera cost £50 when I bought it half price 10 years ago, but I am wondering if an iPhone would simply replace both camera and my not very good Android phone?

An Iphone camera or any similar phone camera will beat a cheap stand alone camera most of the time. The only thing is the iphone doesn't have a flash, so after dark shots won't be good

I'm going to go against the grain here and say...galaxy s4 (or an iphone..if you must.. ;) ) lol. I had a point and click which i bought just for our holiday (£200..) I ended up using my Galaxy s4 to take everyday photos. I even did a comparison and there wasn't that much difference. The great thing is you ALWAYS have your phone on you.. You'll only take your camera if you expect something fun to happen. Most of the time great photos are spontaneous, so its great to always have your camera with you. I'm sure the iphone 5s (or 6 if you wait a little longer..) will be just as good as a galaxy s4 if not better.

however, if you want to start taking more artistic photos (landscapes etc) I'd go for a Bridge camera which will knock the socks off of a camera phone. Also, don't fall for those £100 lens you strap to your iPhone and it, magically, turns it into a DSLR *laughs* ..they're awful!

I'm going to advise you to get a new camera...that's what i'd do.

I actually like the iPhone...not much of a fan of the iPhone 5 though...and the camera you'll find in the iPhone might be all the camera that you need...

It really depends on how you use your camera and what you expect to get from it.

Just for casual 'snaps'...get the iPhone...want something a bit better...get the camera.

I would go with the iPhone because you can't speak to anyone with a digital camera.

Go get the iphone. It has a better camera than any $100 point and shoot
