Why are people in today's society so "Thirsty?"?

People post millions of selfies, compete with each other financially, physically, socially, or just do things for attention. My hypothesis is their not really thirsty for attention, but for love. What else is there?

    I think you are very right in many cases. But I also have learned that over the years people will do all kinds of things.....and THEY do NOT even know why they did something. Lemmings.
