why is there a seat belt ticket?

If a person doesn't wear a seat belt, it does have something to do with everyone everyone who has to pay thousands, or millions when the driver gets hurt in a crash because the driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt. The driver who gets a ticket has to pay only a few hundred dollars. The driver who wears a seat belt but gets blamed for an accident in which someone else didn't wear a seat belt has to pay thousands, or millions.

Unlike a seat belt, fast food is something that has nothing to do with anyone else but the person hurt by it, so it's a personal choice, and they don't give you a ticket for your choice.

But a seat belt isn't like that, because everyone else gets hurt financial because of your "choice", so it's not a personal choice..

because its safer for the driver! yes its healthier to eat fast food but that doesn't usually kill you. If you don't have on a seat belt you're more likely to die in a crash by going through the windows, same with the passengers, especially that middle seat in the car, you will fly right out that window.

First, I agree that it ought to your choice whether to wear one or not, but the sad fact is, when that law was passed, there were a lot of people with no medical insurance, so hospital bills often had to be paid by the taxpayers, AKA the Government.

The Government doesn't LIKE having to use the money they've stolen from us to pay our medical bills, so they invented fines for not wearing the belts.

Many laws exist because people DIE, like in accidents while NOT wearing seat belts. A cheese burger will not make your mom see your brains all over the highway if you crash, not next week, not ever.
