Why do we as Americans feel the need to sing the National Anthem at all sporting events?
In other countries they don't do this type of thing. I feel like it promotes the militaristic culture that America loves, which in my opinion leads to all these mass shootings, which by the way we seem to be starting to see as collateral damage for being able to blast deer into ribbons with ARs and M16s. Why do we worship our military?

I guess the reason is because it is a way to respect our soldiers. In some countries, certain sports are banned, and so maybe it's a way of being thankful that we as Americans are allowed to watch sports and go to events and so forth. I hope that summed it up.

You should listen to the lyrics sometime. The song isn't about our military; it's about our flag, our country, and our people.

i would love for my life to be so uneventful that my biggest concern was why they sing the national anthem at sporting events.
