I adore dogs and I consider that I am fairly knowledgable about dogs, however I am clueless about horses?

I think that horses have a dreadful life. Caring dogs owners socialise their puppy's after they have their vaccinations. It would that no one attempts to socialise baby horses until they are old enough to be ridden.

Consequently horses fear the outside world. They are frightened of puddles and other animals and no one is surprised.

Eventually, they are sold and the owner wonders why they get spooked. When the owner outgrows the horse, it is sold on.

Although, I appreciate that a horse cannot be ridden by an owner who is too heavy for a horse, how can anyone sell a horse that is anti-social

Do horse lovers care?

I'm a horse owner and if you don;t own a horse you have no idea. You have a very strong connection with your horse. you know what they are feeling all the time. There is no such thing as an anti-social horse. The only way a horse could be anti-social (sometimes) is when the owner is anti-social and neglects the horse. I car about my horse like she is my child. My horse even learns tricks she counts, begs, gives paw, and hugs and some people can even get their horse to lie down. just like dogs do. You can never understand unless you have that strong caring connection with your very special horse. If you have that special connection with your horsewhich depends on you and if you are as patient (sometimes less patient) than you are with a dog. then your horse will not be scared of puddles or other things. and OF COURSE we care like they are our children. There are people who ride horses (like in a riding school and don't really understand horses) and there are horse lovers, who would spend everyday with all their dedication with their horse.

    You are wildly ignorant! LOL!

Riding is not the only way to socialize a baby horse.

Not all horses are frightened of puddles or the "outside world".

There's too much to say on the subject of raising, socializing and training a horse. Read. Take lessons. Get some hands on learning.

    OR

Put the subject out of your head. Seriously. Horses aren't even an issue for the vast majority of the world. Calm down!

Horses are nothing like dogs. Don't worry. People who raise horses are very knowledgeable. For centuries, people have raised perfectly good horses without having some dog person's 2 cents.

Yep your title is correct. You know NOTHING about horses. Dogs and horse are completely different animals. Horse ARE socialised as they are herd animals, just because we don't take them on "play dates" it doesn't mean they don't socialise. As for them being 'frightened' they are FLIGHT animals, so yes they do run from EVERYTHING. They are prey and dogs are predator so there is a difference I'm behaviour.

Just because you think you know what goes on doesn't mean it's true.

And FYI even a kindergartener knows a 'baby horse' is called a foal.

I'm a horse own and breeder and I LOVE my horses. All the foals are socialized young and trained. Then they can go in any direction with their owner and the reins <3

I am a horse owner and I don't think your perception is at all accurate.

Dogs are not horses and horses are not dogs.

You can not compare them in the light you are trying to do.
